Chocolate Chunk Cookies
These Chocolate Chunk Cookies are loaded with chocolate chunks! It makes it the perfect cookie for chocolate lovers. After all, is there really such thing as too much chocolate?
What kind of chocolate should you use in this recipe?
This will all depend on your preference. I use semi-sweet chocolate chunks you can find in the baking aisle. You can also buy a thick chocolate bar, and make your own chunks!
Ingredients to make Chocolate Chunk Cookies
- ½ cup salted butter, softened
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- 1 ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chunks
How to make chocolate chunk cookies?
Before you begin making these delicious chocolate chunk cookies, you will want to pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Then, in a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar.
When they are fully incorporated, you can then add in your egg and vanilla.
Then, add in your baking soda and mix for about a minute. This lets the baking soda become mixed well throughout the dough.
Finally, add in the flour, one-half cup at a time. You will also want to use a rubber spatula to make sure and scrape the dough that gets stuck around the edges.
Last, but certainly not least, add in the semi-sweet chocolate chunks. (You can actually buy chunks in your baking aisle from Nestle, or you can cut up your own chunks from a chocolate bar.)
Then, roll the chocolate chunk cookies out into 1 inch balls with your hands. Place them on a prepared cookie sheet that has been lined with parchment paper. Then, squash the cookie balls down with the palm of your hand. This helps the cookie spread out evenly!
Bake for 12-14 minutes or until the chocolate chunk cookies become golden brown around the edges. This particular recipe will make 12 chocolate chunk cookies! Don't forget to pin this to your desserts board on Pinterest, and also leave me a comment if you liked the recipe. Thanks!!
