Very true, humans will manage to change even the most effective solutions once they are in place.Monitoring business process performance is the first order...you want to make sure you haven't left anything out and that everything is working as planned. You may also have people that need additional training.Next, you probably have a punchlist of those "nice to haves" and additional requirements will continue coming in for reports, controls, and additional functionality. Make sure that your governance processes are working according to plan so you have a cohesive plan for continuous improvement. And finally, know your business and technical glidepath. You will want to make sure you are well-prepared for M&A activity, regulatory changes, product launches while also taking advantage of emerging functionality on the technical side.Do these things and you will ensure ongoing value, as Joyce has said, and you'll be set for smooth sailing.

Katherine, thank you for speaking out on this and shining the spotlight on how AI is being weaponised to sow division and impact democracies; and getting smarter at how they do it! I expect there are steps being done to counter this at business and government levels. Want to hear more.

Contrary to expectations (mine included), this research says there are troubles ahead especially when AI is implemented without change to operating model and talent profile.I think there is also a problem with measuring efficiency-only gains from AI. How does one measure a spike in creativity, innovation, inputs to strategy? Surely, there are untapped benefits in these areas, too.https://lnkd.in/gX6nbAkP

It was great to reconnect with April Harrison, Michelle Armstrong and Gary Storr this week. Surely, it’s time for another podcast collaboration, now I am on the same time zone as April and Gary!My last podcast with April was in August 2021, which we recorded while I was in Sydney and April was in Raleigh. We talked about supplier risk management ... we also talked about insurance and seatbelts. April started with a fun question. April: “If you had one superpower, what would that be?”Joyce: “Oh, so easy - Vision! But better than Superman's. He could only see beyond the physical, right? I want physical and time boundaries to be removed. I want to be able to see forward and backward (in time). And it's all to do with problem solving. Can you imagine if you can see what's behind something? Then you can solve the true problem … and also imagine if you can anticipate what might happen? You can make sure your solution is future-proof. So I want vision, not Superman's vision. I have got to call it Joyce's vision – Super Vision.”So, how about you? If you had one superpower, what would that be? Why?By the way, if you wish to listen to the podcast and how much fun we had, see the link in the comment section.

A new season, a new adventure!I have a new role in the US with ISG, joining the team of Megan Walling, Dale Hearn, and Bob Lutz, to help solve the complex and muti-faceted problems that our clients face. This is my third assignment in the US. I recall my time with Fairchild Semiconductors in California, as a young process engineer leading the design to volume manufacture surface mount devices. Consequently, I led the set-up of the surface mount transistors manufacturing line in the Philippines. The second time was with Nortel Networks, as a mother of three, leading the technology or business team in several business and IT transformation programs for Finance, HR and then Global Operations. I settled in Raleigh, North Carolina, and worked at Nortel’s Research Triangle Park campus. The friendships I made then and places I fondly remember have beckoned me to return. This third time, I have the opportunity to fly on my own, start a new season, experience a new adventure. I have returned to Raleigh and celebrated July 4th with friends. I am thrilled to work with and serve our clients in North America.I will leverage my 30+ years of leadership and practical experience in whole-of-business and IT transformation, manufacturing, supply chain & customer operations, information technology and cybersecurity ... even lean on what I learned as a chemical engineer a long time ago. Thanks to Doug Saylors and Scott Bertsch for guiding the way for me.I wish my colleagues and clients in Australia/NZ and Asia continued success.Ps 23: 2 green pastures

At least 70% of manufacturers and their #supplychains aren't realizing the full benefits of #Industry4.0. One key problem is IT-OT convergence. It is not a dream because Lighthouse Factories have given us successful examples. Read this article by ISG's Dorotea Baljevic to find out what the #manufacturers that are successfully gaining value with Industry 4.0 are doing.
